This is an interesting house in Portland, Australia. It is quite plain but the rounded porch give it away as a house probably from the 1930s or 40s. There is also the Art Deco shopfront at the front of the house. No longer open as a shop and with half the window boarded up I can only wonder what it was like in years gone past.
This for a while was a doctor's surgery (about 30 years ago) - my Mum worked in reception there. I remember inside it had fantastic light and a very comfortable feel. There are quite a few buildings similar to this one around Portland with the rounded porch - one fantastic house in particular on Hanlon Parade overlooking the sea.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. Nice to get some history and I wonder if that fantastic light is still there?
