There's a great public hall in the small Gippsland town of Trafalgar. The architect was F C Purnell and the foundation stone was laid by the Hon M McGregor MLC on 17 August 1934.
Considering Trafalgar was a small Gippsland town during the inter-war period, this must have been an ambitious building project. I imagine the public hall could have been used for everything - weddings, picture nights, high school farewell parties, Country Women's Association etc
