A House in Bairnsdale
I found this house in Bairnsdale on our drive through East Gippsland yesterday.I like the screen doors at the front. Did you notice the message of Merry Christmas and the helpful addition of a few arrows in black texta to indicate where the bell is.And the handwritten note attached to the door using a clothes peg.But my favourite feature of the house is the chimney.

former Apollo Theatre, Macau
This is the former Apollo Theatre in Macau, near Senado Square. It dates from 1935, the first film shown was The Merry Widow on 2nd Feb 1935 and, by design, it had shops and apartments at the front and an auditorium on the ground floor at the rear. The Apollo name can still be seen on the corner of the building near the Esprit ad.Reference:

Crescent Building, Montreal
This is the Crescent Building on the corner of Crescent & St Catherine Streets in Montreal. It has some nice decoration on the exterior but the foyer is a absolute gem. But you'll have to come back tomorrow to see that.

Auditorio Nelly Goitiño del Sodre, Montevideo
This is the Auditorio Nelly Goitiño in Avenida 18 de Julio, Montevideo. It appears to be oe of a number of auditorium run by Sodre - Servicio Oficial de Difusión Radio Eléctrica which means something like the Official Service for Broadcasting Radio. At least that's what I've come to understand by applying my very limited knowledge of Spanish to the Sodre website.A frieze on the façade of the building represents the arts in classical form. The masks of comedy and tragedy are depicted in the frieze and separately on the façade.

Palacio Lapido, Montevideo
This is one of my favourite half dozen buildings in Montevideo. It is right in the middle of the main street Avenida 18 de Julio and goes by the name Palacio Lapido. It was designed by architects Juan Aubriot and Ricardo Valabrega. It was built in 1937.Reference:
