    My fear is that governments MAY be prepared to save the Deco facades of important buildings, but that they probably let developers do anything they like to the interiors. Yet.. yet the public spaces in the Peace Hotel in Shanghai still look very impressive. Thank you.

      The Peace Hotel is a great example as is the internal spaces in Grosvenor House in the French Concession which is now part of the Jin Jiang hotel.

      Now I am interested in the French Concession in Shanghai, I must have a better look at The Peace Hotel. I don't think I would have known about it, without your blog.

      I haven't been into many of the buildings on the Bund but they all look great from the outside so hopefully they are good inside too.
