This fabulous building in Carlisle Street, Balaclava is a former branch of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. I remember it in recent times as a take-away chicken joint but last year it was remodelled as a restaurant/bar, Ilona Staller, by Grant Amon Architects bringing a contemporary Art Deco interpretation to the old Art Deco bank.
