Town Hall, Beverley

Beverley Town Hall

The small Western Australian town of Beverley has a great Art Deco pub, a nice little deco Child Heath Centre and this wonderful Town Hall. The Town Hall was designed by Perth architect, W G Bennett and was built in 1938. It incorporates the Hall …

and the Lesser Hall.

Child Health Centre, Beverley

Child Health Centre, BeverleyIt is not every Child Health Centre that has a Second World War aeroplane in the front yard but that's what seems to be going on in Beverley, Western Australia.

It is, of course, an optical illusion. The plane is part of the Aeronautical Museum & Information Centre next door.

Hotel Beverley, Beverley

Hotel Beverley, BeverleyThe town of Beverley, Western Australia, about 130km from Perth, has a couple of great art deco buildings.

This is the Hotel Beverley, originally a Victorian pub that was made-over in the 1930s.

You can see it has a corrugated iron roof, like a lot of Australian country pubs, but also has the concrete deco elements punching through the roofline.
