Shops, Marina
Chestnut St in Marina is awash with small commercial buildings in various Art Deco styles. This is one building with four shopfronts.

This is really beautiful. Mind you, if I had to date the architecture from the shop front lace work alone, I might have some difficulty.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean Helen. I was following the Marina Walk in Michael Crowe's 'Deco by the Bay' from 1995 and I didn't have the full text so it was difficult sometimes to determine exactly which building was the one marked and in anycase many were not identified by name just a commercial building. Many of the shops in Chestnut St were built in the early to mid 1930s.
