In Melbourne Art Deco, Robin Grow, President of the Art Deco & Modernism Society, examines the rise, fall and resurgence of Art Deco in Melbourne from the 1930s to the present day. With contemporary images by David Thompson and a team of photographers, supported by archival material, Melbourne Art Deco offers an invaluable insight into history and current state of one of the city's most popular styles.
Nice picture - I was in Massawa a few years ago and during the day had the city almost to myself - the searing heat sent everyone sensible inside but I was anxious to take pictures in the daylight. I loved my time in Eritrea, especially in Asmara - great architecture and very hospitable people, despite all they have to contend with.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Your comment reflects my experience as well. We were the only ones out in the 'midday sun' in Massawa but Asmara was delightful. The location high on the plateau makes all the difference. Not too hot and no mozzies!
