This is the Registro Civil de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. I know this because it is written above the entrance. I also know that it was built to commemorate something, presumably the establishment of the Registro Civil, between 1886 & 1943 because these two years are written elsewhere on the façade. More I can't really tell you other than the fact that there are three very nice Art Deco lamps hanging in the entrance.

Aah. I've seen photos of this building once before. It really is special, isn't it? I've posted a photo of an Art Deco building in my latest post. Let me know if you'd like to 'borrow' the photos (although I know you only post your own pics on here)!
ReplyDeleteYep, I like the entrance a lot.
DeleteThe Birks on your blog is a nice building too Emm. It really stands out against the much older buildings elsewhere in the village squre. Shame it is derelict but at least it is still standing. And thanks for the offer but your provided you own answer and no offence intended.
No problem! I also very rarely feature other people's photos on my blog!
