Kentuck Knob, Chalk Hill

Kentuck Knob, Chalk Hill

In the early 1950s Bernardine and I N Hagan asked Frank Lloyd Wright to design a house for them on their land in the mountains above Uniontown in Pennsylvania. Lloyd Wright obliged and without visiting the site, except for a short trip during the construction phase, he produced a wonderful house. Here's a few photos of the the I N Hagan House when I visited Kentuck Knob in 2005.

  1. It is odd what makes Art Deco, but the house clearly is.

    1. I'm not sure anything by Frank Lloyd Wright is Art Deco. This is one of those buildings that I like that doesn't quite fit into the subject of this blog.

  2. Clearly not the whole house, but the lines make me think Art Deco.

    1. You are certainly right Andrew. There are elements that can be linked back to Art Deco.
