Windows, Christ the King Church, Tulsa

I've written about Christ the King Church (1928) in Tulsa previously but I didn't include any photos of the stained glass windows by Alfonso Iannelli.

  1. Interesting. I passed that church many a time when I lived in Tulsa. I recently went back and took some photos of Will Rogers High School which is Art Deco. I some up on Flickr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/homesower/ . I also will be putting some up on my website. Right now I am still working on the content, but I will be leading in from http://www.house-design-coffee.com/art-deco-style.html .

Thanks for your contributions. You can use my stuff, just email me at homesower@yahoo.com.

    1. Thanks Joffre
I tend to use only my own photos and only very occasionally use archive shots, but thank you for the offer. Your site looks very interesting. I look forward to checking out in more detail.

  2. According to my dad, who graduated from Marquette High School in 1950, windows on one side depict kings from the Old Testament, and the other side depicts kings from the New Testament. All the Kings depicted are 'looking' at Christ at the altar.

    1. Thanks Colleen. I didn't pick that up while I was there but it makes perfect sense. Especially that they would face the alter. I wonder if I'll ever get back to Tulsa to check it out.
