The Carlyle is a classic Miami Art Deco hotel from 1939 designed by Kiehnel & Elliott.

  2. I don't know if I was lucky to catch it with so many window open but it is nice to see when often you can't open the windows in modern hotels.

  3. Lovely original design and well preserved/renovated today. And what a treat - the map in your reference shows the connection between the Carlyle, the beach, theatres and restaurants etc.

  4. Yes Hels, the layout of Ocean Drive reminds me of English seaside resorts with hotels on one side of the street and the beach/sea on the other.
